Powerboat cockpit water acccumulation

Post by John Edwards »

Hi all

Seems as tho I have a starboard list which results in water acccumulating along the stdb side of the cockpit. Think I'm going to buy one of those chamois mops to get it out!

Any thoughts?

Thanks

I found that, absent a risk of freezing, I could trim her level by adjusting the amount of water in her port tank and storing all heavy gear (toolboxes, etc.) to port. Since I kept her in the water year-round and kept her fuel tank full and water tank empty in winter, she had a noticeable list when winterized. Didn't bother me because I also found that the cockpit hatches leak less when she's listing slightly.

Thanks Bill:

I'm going to try placing a rubber mat over each of the cockpit hacthes, I'm hoping that this will really cut down on the water intrusion... as I am unaware of how much comes in the engine room air vents
