Ocean Engineering for swim ladders

Post by Dave Olson »

We just installed one from Ocean Engineering. They are the OEM. They have the original prints from the ladders they sold to CD and will make one just as if you had checked the ladder option at purchase time.

The number is available in the resources section of the homepage

I got a quote from Ocean En last winter and found there price was VERY high in comparision to West Marine stuff. I know the ladders are custom made for the CD, but if I remember correctly it was in excess of $300 for a swim ladder! That really sounds high to me.

You Get What You Pay For!

We installed an Ocean Engineering swim ladder on our former CD27 about 15 years ago and there has never been any corrosion, "spotting" or other defects structurally or aesthetically in all these years. We mounted the unit on mahogany "blocks" which were "bedded in" for attachment. I sold the boat to a close friend down here in St. Petersburg, Florida and see the boat almost every day. I don't remember how much I paid in 1985 for the ladder, but I don't regret it. I WISH the swim ladder on our current CD28 was an Ocean Engineering one as it wouldn't have all the brown spotting which I don't have with my stantions and pulpits!

OE delivered me an outstanding product and value over the years!

Best Regards,
