Would one of you with a CD30c be good enough to give me an exact measurement from the front of the base for the self tailng boom to the fitting on the bowsprit that holds the staysail stay. I would be happy for your effort.

Staysail Padeye

Post by Dana Sewall »

Hi Ron,

I just returned from my CD30c and this time, I remembered to get some measurements for you. The key number your seeking is 15&1/2 inches. That is the overall distance from the leading edge of the staysail boom deck fitting to the center of the hole in the babystay padeye on my boat. Another way to see it is 5&1/2 inches from the lead edge of the boom fitting to the aft edge of the
bowsprit, plus another ten inches from the aft edge of the bowsprit to the center of the babystay padeye hole. It seems to me that the real key is to keep the babystay parallel with the headstay. I hope this helps.
