Yesterday I noticed a very small wood screw in my portside rub rail. At first I thought it was a piece of dirt. After investigating I found another on the starboard side. They are both a little forward of the mast. There are two more in the rail on both sides just about in the middle of the cockpit. I'm gussing that they are to mark the lifting points of the boat. Can anyone confirm this, or was this just a good idea of the original owner? I didn't see anything in the owners manual.
Thanks!

Re: CD26D Lifting points????
I own a CD26 and there are no screws in my rub rail...must have put there by the previous owner

Re: CD26D Lifting points????
These points do not appear, to me, to be the lifting points.
Although my old marina paid for and installed two plastic nameplates on my starboard toe rail designating the lifting points. The points are traditionally...aft position (just forward of the rudder shaft lower bearing) and forward (in the forward hull "cut away notch", as far aft as possible into the notch). I have seen haulers "nose" the boat down a bit for added security on this lifting point.
Your screw in the middle of the cockpit is the one which I distinctly believe to be off. I think you will find the aft lifting point to be more in line with the companion way bridge area.
