My wife, Bev, and I'll will be in

Beaufort May7-10 and

Oriental May 14-16.

In between the Outer Banks

Anyone that would like to meet or be kind enough to show two Texans how they sail on the east coast would be appreciated.

I'm a tad disappointed in NC sailors

Post by rtbates »

I am disappointed that NO NC sailors responded.

What's up with that?

Do you guys say "Hi" to stangers on the docks? haha

Oh well I'll just have to travel the docks and marinas on my own.

Randy,
I'm surprised also. That ain't the way we do things down here in Texas.

If my response to your diving question earlier, I invited you to look me up and perhaps go for a sail if my schedule allows. There is only one other board member that I know of keeping his boat in Beaufort but he lives up near Raleigh, a few hours away so he may not be available. Of the Cape Dory owners Keeping their boats in Oriental, most also live toward Raleigh. Of the two members that I know of that actually live in Oriental, at least one currently has his boat at the yard having work done. It may be a matter of bad timing. You're planning on arriving at each location on a Sunday and staying Monday and Tuesday. You're arriving in Beaufort on the 7th as the Cape Dory trip to South River is ending.

I keep my boat in Washington, which isn't so far away from where you will be. Unfortunately, I'm in Iraq through the end of July. Otherwise...
