On my Westerbeke 13 hp engine I noticed a dripping leak behind the raw water pump. There is an area where the pump shaft is exposed behind the pump housing and that is where the water seems to be coming from. Is there a seal that could be worn or damaged or what else might be causing the leak?
Thanks for sharing any similar experience.

Jim,
Yes there is a seal seated in the pump housing. On my Westerbeke 10-2, the seal is paired with an o-ring, I do not know the arrangement used on the 13 hp engine. Contact Hansen Marine in Marblehead, MA and the parts department can supply you with both the necessary parts, and the technical expertise. The installation of the parts is quite simple and should be no problem.
