I have seen more than three 25 foot CD's for sale in my area (Tampa), all for under $5,000. Some with new sails, new motors, and nothing extremely wrong for the price. Is this common or a good market???

Re: Discounted 25 Cape Dory
Casey: It depends on the condition and year of the boat. For example, this past december I sold my 1980 CD-25 for $11,000. round figure, but she was in excellent condition overall, with Harken rollerfurling 150%genoa, very good mainsail, all new canvas (bimini and matching sail covers) all teak in VG condition newly varnished, bottom just painted, depthsounder, compass, autopilot, swim ladder, opening and closing bronze portholes, very clean inside and out, her hull in top shape. This was in Miami. So good luck with your bids.

**By the way, now I own a 33 CD, 1982. she's great.

Re: Discounted 25 Cape Dory
I would appreciate your comments as to the condition of the boats available in Tampa. Also, did they come with trailers? I just bought a 77 in Ft Myers for $4,700. Boat and sails are in excellent condition and came with VHF, GPS, compass, depth finder, port-a-potty, etc. However negatives were that the teak shelves, sink, table and head are all gone, as well as the teak rub rail. The boat did not come with a motor, and I had to replace the cushions. It also needed a bottom job. I will have about $7,500 in the boat when I am finished but will have a new motor, bottom paint, teak rub rail, and cushions inside and out. I was estimating market value of about $9,000, so figured I was ok but perhaps I overpaid a bit. Sounds like you have found some good deals, I would pick one up. Have you seen any CD 25Ds for sale up there? Ken
