Cape Dory fuel tank
Recently purchased Cape Dory. Question on fuel tank. How can you tell how much fuel you have in tank?

My 25D has a gauge on top of the tank, but you have to be a contortionist to read it.

My CD330 has a gauge located on top of the tank. The gauge is viewed by opening the port cockpit locker the looking straight down at the tank top

I have a teak stick with marks for 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and 4/4. It is fairly accurate but a nuisance.

Al,
Both my CD27 (had) and CD28 has the guage on top the tank in the port cockpit locker. I haven't checked the CD28 enough yet, but found the CD27 guage pretty repesentative of the fuel (diesel) quantity.
