Looking for CD26D info and boat to buy

We have been looking for a boat for about a year- and have fallen in love with a CD26. However, we are troubled by the outboard, and would like a marine head. A marine head could be installed, of course, but not the inboard! So- anyone have information about just what a CD26D is? And where there might be one for sale, rare as they are?

Hi Sue,

You are looking for a "rare" one because the diesel was offered only as an option. I would expect the diesel to be the same as the CD25D.
But guess what? Soundings lists 5 CD26s for sale including what appears to be a 1986 CD26D for about $20.5K. See web site www.soundingspub.com and put in a search for 26', Cape Dory, cruisier.
The five boats should come up.
