Battery box for 2 Trojan T-105 batteries

Post by Andy Denmark »

Does anyone know of an off-the-shelf battery box that is a good fit for two Trojan T-105 6-volt batteries? The one West shows is too sloppy side-to-side and is too short for the lid to fit tightly.

Ideas, anyone?

Thanks

Andy

Some time ago I saved some information for a company in Seattle, WA the OLD information I have is for Allied Battery Company. The box is designed for a pair of T-105s. I have no clue as to the "fit" or "quality" and here is the telephone numbers I have.

800-543-0085
206-762-5522

The information is from 1998 and may well be worthless at this time, but I did talk to them at one time.

Please let me know if the information is still good.

Hi Andy,

Another alternative is to find a poly water tank of the right dimensions.

Just cut off one side and viola you have a water tight, acid proof battery box.

I did this with a small water tank that came with FeNIX.
It just happened to be perfect for three size 27 batteries.

Take care,
Fred B.

Trojan T105's in a BLUE SEA BATTERY BOX

Post by L.DeMers »

Andy,

Both West and Defender, as well as JSI etc. carry Blue Sea battery boxes. I have one for my Trojans, and they are great. Made from a very strong poly, they have a captured lid, mounting ears on the case, and fit the batteries perfectly. I can't recommend them highly enough.
Be sure to at least lay your eyes and hands on one before deciding. The quality is very apparent.

Cheers,

Blue Sea box

Post by Andy Denmark »

Thanks, Larry,

I looked at the Blue Sea boxes in the West catalog. Maybe the dimensions listed are incorrect and that's why I calculated the fit as "sloppy." From the catalog it looks like the box is not deep enough. My mistake, apparently. Anyway, I would prefer the Blue Sea box as their gear is usually top drawer.

Since you use the T-105's and that's what you recommend I will look no further.

Going to be 70 here today and I'm off to sunny Florida tomorrow. Spring is just around the corner!
