Also here's a South Coast 21 that recently went for dirt cheap on ebay recently, an "end of the season" deal. Include an outboard and Triad trailer, too.

Rollergirl's suggestion to look closely at an Ensign is good advice. I love my deep-cockpited Ty daysailer and wouldn't part with her, but I've sailed all summer on an Ensign in all kinds of weather around Fishers Island Sound in CT. It is a very fast, enormous cockpit (you walk around in it!) -- a comfortable and safe boat (although I lines of the Ty are prettier). It's several feet longer (24' I think). As for the cuddy, well two could sleep in I suppose -- but it's as much of a weekender as a Ty, which is not saying much. To use an automotive metaphor, I'd say the Ensign is a vintage sportscar (fast, nimble, quick acceleration, racy in it's day) whereas the Ty would be an entry level Rolls (if they made one) -- safe, comfortable, smooth, fast enough, comfortingly predictable and a joy to own.
