Caribbean Cruising

Post by Mike Rodriguez »

Hey Y'all, Just got back from a gruelling 36 day delivery of a Benetau 345 to Spain by way of St. Martin to Azores to Spain. I will never again sail across the Atlantic or anywhere on that type boat. I am now in St. Croix with my CD30C on the hard with the mast unstepped and looking at numerous projects to complete before splashdown when hurricane season is over (Nov. 30th). I would really like to find a sailing buddy who would be willing to come down and help with all this preparation in return for sailing the caribbean as long as he (or she) likes. I did this several years ago with a couple of members of this board and it worked out really great for all concerned. Is anyone interested?

Hi Mike,

Glad to hear you are back home, almost. Coming from you, who had a really great delivery adventure on your own boat, that trip to Spain must have been something.

Hope to hear from you again.

Welcome back

Hi Ron,
It's good to be back. There were times when I wondered if I'd ever see Sunshine again. It was quite an adventure. I'll tell you all about it if you ever come down again.
I neglected Sunshine for a while but I'm planning to fix that over the next few weeks. I want to make a trip to the Dominican Republic in December and then maybe in February make my way down the Leeward Islands to Venezuela. You're welcome to come along.
Someday I want a ride on that ketch of yours.

Best regards
