There are old sailors and bold sailors, but there are no old, bold sailors.
Reef early and often. It's easier to shake out a reef when one is bored than it is to tuck one in when one is scared.
When your only tool is a hammer, all your problems look like nails.

Inner Forestay
It would seem straightforward to attach an inner forestay to the mast of a CD 33 sloop halfway between the spreaders and the mast top. It would also seem conventional wisdom to support the mast at that point with aft intermediate shrouds as was done with the CD 33 cutter, or with running back stays. The deck fitting seems more problematic. How is this done in the CD 33 Cutter? Are there structural differences between the sloop and cutter that would make the attachment on an inner forestay to the foredeck more difficult or involved?

Leo,
Have you checked http://www.riggingonly.com? They have an entire page in their catalogue dedicated to inner forestay systems and give the impression that they do this all the time.
