Cape Dory 33/330 Video

Post by Joe Wysong »

Our supply of 15 minute blank video tapes just arrived so any owner of a CD 33 or 330 can have a copy of the sales/demo video made by Cape Dory in 1986 to promote the 330. It shows hull construction, Alberg, Valvolotis, the 330 interior and has some great shots of the 330 sailing on Buzzard's Bay.

We don't want any money for this as only small change is involved but, due to time constrants, will only make copies for owners of the 33 hull. If someone else want a copy to make copies from for the rest of the world, let me know and we'll send you a master copy.

Send your snail-mail address to me at tgjournal@gestalt.org and we'll send a copy through the postal service.

Joe

JOE: I know I e-mailed you some days ago requesting a copy of the tape... I own CD-33 -1982- hull #73. I love the boat. It has some peculiarities. I wonder if they are typical to the 33's. Anyway, I would LOVE to receive a copy of the tape, if possible.
My mailing address: Zeida Cecilia-Mendez - 5243 N.W. 94th. Doral Place, Miami, FL. 33178

When sailing my '33 closed hauled she won't point more than 10 degrees off the wind in either port or starboard. i think that is natural, since these boats are basically "reaching" boats. however,if sailing to weather on port tack, I have to keep the wheel one quarter turn to starboard! If I take the wheel back to the center, the boat goes into the wind! I assume that means I am fighting "weather helm"...? It bothers me to think that I have my rudder slightly at an angle to the water flow, and thus, not realizing the top speed the boat could sail at... however, I sail at 9.6 knots with both sails up...Any comments.?
Thanks. Will be looking forward to receiving the videotape! Thanks again.

Zeida.
