Bilge Pump placement on CD27

Post by Russ Cooper »

I intend to install an electric bilge pump on my CD27 (currently only have manual pump). Would like to mount at bottom of bilge in a secure manner, but access is challenging. Will need to attach pump to a "stick" of sorts to lower and secure. Anyone have suggestions? Also, current manual pump discharges near stern which is a somewhat long run. Has anyone routed hose differently?

I mounted a bilge pump and switch to a piece of plexiglas. I also attached an eye bolt. I have a line tied to the eye bolt. A length of pvc with a hook on the end of it is used to adjust the position. I led all of the wires to a space under the seatee, and there I mounted a 3 position switch. Make sure the puump assembly will fit through the access hatch in the sole.

Good luck.
