Typhoon rigging
Another new guy question... I'm in the final stages of getting my typhoon and trailer cleaned up and put back together for her maiden voyage (with me), and starting to go through the rigging. My question is about how the boom is fitted to the mast. I.e., how is the boom kept from riding up or down once it is set in place, and exactly where is that place? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Typhoon rigging
Hi Mark....
at the base of the boom and on the under side there is a line that gos down to a cleat, take the line around it two times.
if there is no line, you will have to add it (about one foot).
you will see a hole where the line gos thru and tie a stoper knot in the end.
that should do it for you, if you have any more just ask.

Boom
I think you really have a two part question and Winthrop has answered for you when under sail. When the boat is at the mooring or slip, take out the "sail stop", push the boom above the slot used to insert the boom into the mast and then reinsert the sail stop. That keeps both the boom and sail in place. At least that is what I do.
