Max Prop

I am considering getting a max prop for my CD30 cutter . Any advice, please?

Check the archives. I believe I remember reading that a maxi prop won't fit in the cut out unless you modify the rudder in a major way, which few are willing to do.

i know in the archives it has been done on a cd 30...the problem exist when the prop feathers at 90 degrees to the keel and the rudder were to go hard over, it would hit...moreso on my cd 28 than on a 30...that said i have a beautiful max-prop 12' never used that sits on our mantle and if interested i'd offer at a large discount jack

Walter, I am using a three blade, feathering Maxi Prop on my CD30c Rascal for four years now. I hauled out last December and found no conflict marks on either the prop or the rudder. I really appreciate my prop because I sail on the Columbia River and the current is appreciable at times. I don't know the exact props or CD size boats that had problems with Maxi Props but it sure works great for me.
