Fuel Injector Leak on MD7A - Need Help with Pump

Post by dmetznik »

A mechanic who is not familiar with the MD7A says that he sees a fuel leak from the injector. He is asking for pump specs and diagrams and Volvo is not responding. Please provide any advice and/or specs/diagrams, and your experience that might be helpful.
Thanks,

If the leak is from the injector ...

why does he want to mess with the pump?

Where exactly is the leak?

Where are you located? We may be able to steer you to a Volvo expert nearby.

IMHO, if there is something wrong with the pump, you should just remove it and get it in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing.

Sounds as if you need a more reliable source to work on your engine. Research this board and you will find the info you need.
I have always heard the injector pump is strictly a professional shop item when it needs attention. If you know where leak is at the injector let the board know and they can help. Good luck with your repair .......... be careful who you let mess with your engine.
