Typhoon maintenance question
When I took the trim piece off the base of the rudder shaft in the cockpit, there was a bunch of mostly dried up goo packed in between the shaft and the trim piece. Can someone tell me what I need to replace this with? Thanks.

3M 4200?
Mark,
I am about to take that same piece off, but haven't gotten around to it. My hunch is that it is a bedding compound like 3M 4200. I had it in my mind that I was going to use 4200 to secure it to the cockpit floor once I had it off and refinished. Whatever you do don't use 5200 unless you want it to become a permanent part of your cockpit. Someone posted a picture a while back that showed their coamings attached to the cockpit with 5200 and there was a gentleman with a hammer and chisel trying to take it off. Tim
