You said to go to "Search" to find a specific page. Suppose I want to go directly to page 300. How do I do it?
Thanks for all of your posts. They are quite helpful.

Re: Finding a specific page
Hi Jack,
Also, from any pages other than the first and last pages you also have the option of clicking on "Next" or "Previous".

Well, right now there are only 296 pages (and the number of pages will probably change weekly as new items are posted). If you want to go directly to page 296, the "Go to page" links or located directly above and directly below the "Last Post" column on the righthand side of the window of the "<a href="http://www.capedory.org/board/viewforum.php?f=1">Main Forum</a>". So just click on the "296" link and that will take you to the forum's last page (the oldest items posted). Going directly to a page really isn't all that helpful since the page a particular item is on will change weekly as new pages are added at the top of the board.Jack wrote:You said to go to "Search" to find a specific page. Going to a Page
The software doesn't make it easy, but it's possible.
If you click on and go to a page number - say 294, the URL in the address bar at the top of your browser window will read
http://www.capedory.org/board/viewforum ... tart=14650
In this example, "start=14650" means to start at topic number 14650, counting backwards from today. Since there are 50 topics on a page, that starts at page 1 + (14650 / 50), or 294.
So - if you want to go to page 100, subtract 1 getting 99, multiply that by 50, giving 4950, change the start number in the address bar to that. So
http://www.capedory.org/board/viewforum ... start=4950
gets you to page 100.
I guess the reason the software doesn't provide a better way is that people will normally look through the archives by searching, or by browsing back using the "Next" and "Previous" links. But we did lose the ability to go back and look at a whole year of topics on one page.
