Getting Banned
Winthrop raised the question of being banned form this board in his messge on the main forum as though it were wrong for this community to police itself. If that is what he meant, I disagree, but we ought to be clear about how you get banned. I looked for rules or guidelines that indicate what trespasses yield banning, but could not find them, except the note that says we don't discuss sex, religion or politics because they are heavier than air, accumulate in the bilge and present an explosion risk (all that methane I guess). For our friends who imagine themselves pushing the edge of this board's envelope, where can those guidelines be found? It would probably be fair to let our rowdy friends know what would get them kicked out of the party. Thank you.

Board standards and banning
Re board standards:
The FAQ explains our general guidelines for behavior.
Members of the board are welcome to bring rowdy behavior to Catherine's (and/or my) attention, and people will be informed if they are over the line.
Re banning:
This board has technical features that permit members to be banned, if the management finds it necessary.
This is a good group of people here. I suspect it will be a cold day in Tahiti before we ever have to think about using those features.
