I'm finding that the automatic log in board feature is not working even though I have checked the small box?

Do you have anything on your computer set to block cookies? Cookies are required for automatic login.

Cookies are set to work with originating website only. Maybe that is the issue, I do not know.

The two previous reply posts to your message would not even post when I did the "submit" all it kept doing was giving me a "Debug Error" message. Then when I went back to the main forum and started over again I saw the two efforts to post the replies both had posted after all?

A lot of people had that problem yesterday. We think (we hope) it's fixed now, but please email me if it happens again.

Did you get the login problem fixed? Our cookie is from the originating site, but you might check to see if turning that setting off allows the automatic login to work.

Hi Walt,

I still log in manually and the small box is checked. I have not tried turning off the "originating site" cookie control. I'll try it tomorrow but I really do not want to be open to cookies from any server. Also, I have my Netscape password manager set to remember the log in password.

Regarding another topic......

I am confused as to why some post subjects are in bold font and others are normal font?

I also am trying to figure out why the main topic posts are not in dated order and that older topic posts sometimes appear at the beginning of the topic list when entering the main forum and the newest posts are sometimes down the list? Have I got something set wrong? It shouldn't be doing this right? The newest topic should always appear first on the main forum page below announcements and sticky's, correct?

Sorry to burden you but one other thing.....How come when a person clicks on someone's post in a thread on the main forum page that their post is not in line with the persons post they are responding to? You know like the old forum was. Thanks for your assistance. J.

The subject of the original post is in bold. All the replies are normal. The post authors are in bold if they are registered users, normal if not.

The first topic after the stickies should be the topic with the most recent reply, even if the topic itself is old.

The topics on the old board were in a tree form. Each post was a reply to a specific post. This board is different. All the replies are in sequence.

Normally people respond to the last post, or to the whole conversation. If someone wants to respond to another post they can quote that post to make it clear, but their reply will go on the end.

This is a difference between the new and old formats.

I realize I meant the poster names and not the subject and you have explained the reason regarding the bold and non bold appearance.

I don't know about others but that "tree" effect of the old board I liked a lot and miss.

I find myself making a continual dumb error when on the main forum, I find myself clicking on the bold author name rather than the post subject because of the difference in the boldness of the font.

I just read Ken Coit's post regarding the old appearing before the new and that is the same point I was trying to make before. I see at the bottom of the main forum page there is a series of status icons. It seems to me if the newest topic post came first on the page and then a "new" post icon was placed alongside older threads where a new reply post had been made that would make things less confusing and keep the chronological order of the latest topics first the way the other board was. I always thought the other board could have used a icon or something to indicate new reply posts so a persom didn't have to look around for them. Now just the opposite seems to be happening and the newest topics have to be looked for..

How long do you suppose a filter on "casinos" would be effective? We seem to be getting a lot of those here of late and they are not CD related.
