The fixed port lights on the CD30 MKII that I am in the process of buying have become translucent either due to age or neglect. Does anyone have a method of restoring the clarity to these lights. I would rather not replace them if I can possibly avoid that.

I am having mine replaced. A friend in the autoglass business is doing the work for a few beers. The glass part is easy because it is just scraps from other jobs. There is no way to clarify the existing glass, I have tried Megliars, windex, everything in the closet, but my autoglass guy says just replace it, it won't come clean. The only remaining unanswered question is laminated auto glass or high grade plexi. I will tell you how I make out.

I didn't want to remove them because of the possibility of leaks. How do they come out? From inside or outside? What will you use to seal them? Have you spoken to Robinhood about replacing them? I'd appreciate some advice.

The windows are non-structural and are put in like an auto windshield. The originals are a 1/8" piece on the inside and a 1/4" piece on the outside. These will be replaced with 3/16" autoglass or plexiglass. They are taped in like an automobile windshield and will not leak unless disturbed by a severe blow (as in hitting). The windows themselves are glued in place and come out from the outside. If you look around the windows they are sealed shut with a black material, that is the tape that is placed on it after it is glued in place. I will know more once mine are replaced (I think in two weeks) but that is what I was told when the glass guy looked at it originally.
