Photo of undersole jack method

Post by JimL »

This photo was taken under the cockpit sole of Jan Sieben's CD25. I got the camera a little tilted, but you can see how the jack works. The turnbuckles must angle in opposite directions, at each end, to force the jack to self-center the load.

This method can be used on a very small scale using smaller turnbuckles and angle aluminum stock.

Ahhhh, a picture and all those words. Yes, it is clear now, very good. I will definitely be making use of this technique.

Thanks

Why do you have the struts running fore and aft instead of abeam? This looks to be an easy solution for our soft cockpit floor.

The turnbuckles (struts) are angled abeam, as the angle aluminum stock is across the forward end of the cockpit sole. The wood you see is the false bulkhead at the back of the cabin, under the companionway.

Hi...

I see this is an old thread.

The picture doesn't exist anymore (using the link). Were you raising your cockpit? Mine is sinking slowly.

anybody still have the photo?

Thanks,
Ben
