Microwave Oven for CD25

Post by Frank Fitch »

I am in the process of adding a microwave oven to my CD25. Found one that I thought might be of interest to others. It's a GE Model JE320GA, product name of "Mike". What's neat about it is it's size. It measures externally 11"W x 13"H x 11"D, which means that it fits nicely between the starboard bulkheads of my CD25, across from the head --- I'll be able to make popcorn while otherwise occupied ;-) Internal dimensions are 8"W x 6.5"H x 9.5"D --- not real big, but it's out of the way.

I had seen a magazine advertisement for it, but was unable to locate the model at any of our local appliance stores. I telephoned GE directly, ordered over the phone and received it just two days later -WOW !!! Cost was about $105. GE's 800 number is 800.626.2000

Do you plan on using this while plugged in to shore power, or underway off your boat batteries? If batteries, how much power does this draw?

I will use with shore power. The microwave packing box claims 500 watts. The rating plate on the microwave claims 0.7KW, hmmmm.
I suggest that you call GE's 800 number.
