Nuff room?

Post by Paul Scribner »

I'm interested in purchasing a rigid boom vang for Serenitas (CD 28)1978 Hull 205. The vendor at the Hartford Strictly Sail show said I needed a minimum of 28" from the bottom of the boom to the coach roof. Since I'm still under cover (not like some people) and demasted can anyone recall what the distance is on this boat? Thanks as usual.

My cover came off on Saturday. Don't know for sure when I'm gonna be down at the boat next, but hopefully this weekend. I'll measure and let you know if you don't get an answer from someone else before that.

Paul,

From the boom to the top of the cabin, measured at the mast step, is 25 inches.

Thanks, Neil. The vendor said I needed a minimum of 28" for the solid boom vang to be effective.
Appreciate it.
