Has anyone had any experience with the Tacktick Wireless Windmeter?

I just noticed this question and thought I would answer it in spite of the delay.
I have a tacktick wind transmitter and it has never worked properly. The company has replaced the transmitter twice and it still doesn't work. It works perfectly when the boat is on the slip (I have had it running for days) but as soon as I sail away, communication between the transmitter and the display is broken. Very occasionally I can reestablish communication for a very short time before it is broken again. I have written to the company in England, asking for a refund (it lists for $1,300 now in WestMarine) but have not had a reply. By the way, if anyone has had a similar experience, or has any idea why communication should be interrupted only when the boat moves, I should be happy to hear it (the manufacturer has no idea).
