Does anyone out there know the correct lenghts/diameters for sheets (main, jib and spinaker), halyards (main, headsail, spinaker), spinaker pole downhaul and topping lift for a '74 CD25?
My used CD came without any sheets and something similar to docklines for halyards.
I'm thinking of using T900 or Spect-Set. Am I in the ballpark?
Thanks in advance.

Re: CD25 running rigging specs
J.P.:
I dug out Sostenuto's (my 1977 Cd 25) head sails and measured the sheets. Both the jenny and the working jib are 30' long. I believe the jenny is a 130%. The lines look to be 1/2''. I replaced my halyards last spring. The Cd 25s came with a steel halyard for the jib. West Marine can make you one but the wise heads around Lake Erie recommend a low stretch synthetic. I used it and have no complaints. Take a measure off your mast to get the length. I believe I used 7/16 diameter line (might have been 5/8). I'd get some old rope and see what fits the masthead blocks best. My main sheet is on the boat. I need to go there this weekend anyway so if no one gives you an answer by then I'll measure it for you. The West Marine catalog has an advisor page on running rigging. They give t-900 a top rating for halyards and spec-set II top rating for sheets.
The topping lift is steel (though of course it wouldn't have to be). I'll measure it for you this weekend.
My spinnaker pole is an old fore-spar I don't remember the model. Again from the West Marine catalog they recommend an HD 6-12 for boats 22-25'. They give dimensions as 79'' collapsed and 138'' extended. That sounds about right to me.
It sounds like you bought a boat that's been neglected. It's well worth bringing back. Definitely "classic plastic". Let us know how it goes.

Went to boat took some measurements
J.P.
I got down to my boat this weekend as planned. I measured the main sheet. It is 48' long. Sheets and halyards are 7/16'' diameter. My spinnaker pole is 79'' long. The topping lift is about 25' long. I have less confidence in this measurement, as accessibility was a problem. The Cape Dory 25 came with a steel toping lift ending in a loop. The boats that I've seen added about 2' of light line to connect it to the boom. I add a loop of shock cord to take out the slack. If I were replacing it I would get about 30' of light line, not thicker than 3/16 or so.

Re: CD25 running rigging specs
Bruce,
Thank you again for your information on my new(ish) CD25. There are very few places outside the boatyard that you can get the "glue" that helps us all along with our projects.
I thank you.
