Does anyone know of a source for a swim platform for a CD 28 power? I do not care whether it is teak or fiberglass. Any help would be appreciated.

When I got my CD 30 power in 1993, one of the first things I did was to ask a local yard to add a teak swim platform. They did it on the two-for-one deal - charged me two dollars for every one dollar in the estimate. Wound up costing north of three grand. They custom fabricated everything including the brackets. But it sure is a good looking and solid platform. I'm sure it could be done for far less by a yard that didn't go two for one. (Though maybe not - teak is painfully expensive.)
Most marine supply catalogs list teak swim platforms and brackets. The largest listed one is 7 1/2 feet (for $479 from West Marine) but there must be wider ones. Problem is, it is square and would have to be cut dramatically to fit the pronounced transom curve on the CD 28. It might not look great, and just from the picture of the brackets I'd use stronger ones.
You might try calling Boat US Special Orders at 800-568-0319. Try Emmanuel at ext. 1009 - he has been great for me. If there is a better stock swim platform anywhere he will know it, and can order it for you at a discount. (You may need to be a member to order - I'm not sure - but if he can get the platform for you the $17 membership fee will be cheap.)
