Speaking of bottom paint... Has anyone had any experience with water based bottom paint? Is it any good in freshwater?

I've been waiting for someone with first hand experience to jump in here, but since no one has, I can pass on this second hand report. A friend told me that the water based bottom paint is terrific and he thought better than oil based. I'm a salt water sailor, but just about anything will work in fresh water won't it? Any paint that works in salt water should be even better in fresh -- shouldn't it? If you try the water based how about posting your experience here. We're all interested.

I put Aquarius from Interlux on my boat last year and will definetly do it again this year. This is a water based anti-fouling paint. One of the great things about it was the clean up with water and not having to use solvents such as acetone. It covers great too. I used only one quart on my CD 28 with very good results in freshwater. I thinned it with water while applying it This year I plan to take into salt water and I will probably put a slightly thicker coat on. Using only one quart was pretty economical also. I keep the boat in Lake Champlain so we don't really have a big problem though zebra mussels will attach to anything with out anti fouling on it. Any questions don't hesitate to ask.
