Removing/Reinstalling flybridge on CD28fb cruiser HELP ?!?!

Post by Edd »

I am in need of experienced advice on the best way to remove and subsequently reinstal the flybridge on a CD28FBCruiser. Particularly how to remove calking, plug holes for transit, secure steering cables, tie down enclosure, bimini, ect. The yards I have talked to seem unsure of how to dismantle without damaging roof of salon. They say that if it is glued down with "5200" than "forget-it" whereas if it's "101" than it shouldn't be a problem. Help anyone?
thanks

Edd,
I have recently had a CD 28 FB packed up and shipped from Connecticut to Florida. The removal of the Flybridge was according to the yard a fairly easy process. There is a strip mounted in the salon roof that the screws from the FB screw in to. They had to remove the caulking with care. I am not sure just how 5200 would be removed. Perhaps there is a solvent? The cables for the steering etc come up through the chase above the lower steering station. The yard marked the different wires and wrapped them in a plastic bag and left them secured to the roof. There was a lot of discussion about shrink wrap or not we elected not. The boat arrived in great condition. I'll be glad to answer any questions you have. John
