Life Line Stantion Shims

Post by Dan VanWinkle »

Through the years the yard has lost thin stainless steel shims that were in the base of my lifeline stantions. A set screw tightens against them to keep the stantions tight. I called Ocean Engineering in CT this morning and they don't have them or know who might. Anyone else have these things in their stantions? Anyone else have a source for replacements? My boat is an '82 25D.

Dan,
I can't help you with the shims but I can give you an alternative.

The stantion bases on my CD27 have a clearance hole drilled in them and the stantions themselves are drilled and tapped for a #10 RHMS. Line up the clearance hole with the tapped hole & tighten the screw. A little locktite and your all set.
