Is there a CD27 owner out there with a hull number some where
around 175 (1980)? I am trying to determine who made the
deck pipe cap. Mine was lost in heavy weather when the bow
mounted anchor decided to take a dive. I have eliminated Spartan Marine, and Wilcox-Crittenden who are known to have supplied
Cape Dory parts. I am guessing that there might be a Mfg. logo
inside the cap. There is nothing on the pipe. Any suggestions
would be appreciated.
Grey tape works ok, but it looks bad.

CD27 deck pipe cap?

Re: CD27 deck pipe cap?
Newton,
Assuming yours is the chrome plated type I offer the following:
I replaced mine with a bronze one. It has a slightly larger hole for the rope which makes it easier to get the rope in.
It also looks nicer with the bronze.
I think I chucked the old chrome one, but will check in the celler.

Thanks for the response. My deck pipe is also bronze, but if
you find your old cap and it will fit, I would be happy to buy
it from you. I have looked high and low for a replacement with
no luck.
The pipe is elliptical and measures 4 3/4'' by 2 5/8'' (O.D). It sticks up above the deck surface 1 1/2''.

I'll look for it. If I find it I'll let you know and you can have it.Carl Nord wrote: Newton,

An alternative is I will sell the one on my boat to you for $18,900 and throw in a free hull, sails, engine, dingy, etc. (see posting just before your first one !)
