Does anyone know the stability range for a CD 25? The righting moment?
The location of the vertical center of gravity? Or, does anyone have definite knowledge of the suitability of this boat for transatlantic sailing - considering strength, design, etc? I'm looking at a CD 25 and a Bristol 24 for a transatlantic, and need all the info I can get to help make the decision.
Thanks!!!

Can't help you with the stability numbers for these boats, but do hope you're looking at a CD-25D instead of the CD-25 w/ outboard.
I've seen both boats ( I'm a 25D wannabe) and the CD-25D is a sturdier boat and better suited of the two for offshore/ crossing work. Practical Sailor feels this way too.

Re: CD 25 Stability
Steve,
We had a lengthy discussion about capsize screening values towards the end of last year. Search this site on "typhooncapsize" and look for Paul and my messages. He showed the formula, and I provided the answers. The formula is: Displacement divided by 64. Take cube root of that number. Divide beam by the cube root. For a CD-25D the capsize screening value is 1.85. Since this is <2, it is considered GOOD.
