I am planning on taking my CD30 for an extended cruise and am concerned about my battery storage capacity. How can I determine if my storage capacity will be sufficient and should I dedicate a seperate third battery to my radar/gps? What is the formula for determining recharging time based upon alternator output and battery capacity?
Any guidance would be appreciated.

I am reading a book about 12v systems that has that exact calculation in it. I can't remember the author & title, and the book is on-board right now. I am spending the 3 day weekend aboard, and will bring it home so I can e-mail the details to you. Please e-mail me with your e-mail address

A good book is The 12 Volt Doctor's Practical Handbook by Edgar Beyn. Spa Creek Instruments publishes it. They also have a book about alternators. phone used to be 301-267-6565 when I got my copy years ago.
