Cleaning the Fiberglass Solution

Post by Gary McDonough »

Thanks to all who responded to my inquiry. I ended up buying "Y-10". It is a gell that is spread lightly on the waterline brown stain & sure enough, after waiting about five minutes, 90% of the stains (the stains were there a year ago when I bought the boat) disappeared when I wiped the hull with a clean rag. The only problem then was that the waterline was white and the rest of the hull above it was discolored. I then had to put the "Y-10" on the upper part of the hull.

I have also cleaned the teak and put a new coat of Cetol on today and the contrast between the cleaner whiter hull and the brighter cleaner teak makes you think that the boat is out of the showroom; not a boat that is 15 years old.

I highly recommend "Y-10"
