CD 24D vs CD 28

Post by Bill »

I have found a 1984 CD 25D mint condition. Less than 30 months in water and 20 hrs on the engine. The remainder of the time the boat was under cover in the dry. Boat is in orgiaial condition, no electronics, orginial sails (two) and nothing else. Asking 25k. My problem is tring to make the decision regarding the purchase of this boat or a CD 28.

I plan to cruise the Carribean for 12-18 months. I know the qualities of each boat.

Advise please!

I paid less than 25k for my CD28, and I like it very much. I would think you would appreciate the little extra room you would have in the 28 when in the tropics. Also when it comes time to sell, I find that if people are offered two different boats for the same price, they will generally go for the bigger one, right or wrong. I believe they both have about the same fuel tankage, but the 28 carries more water.
