Hello to All
When (what year model) did CD start putting bridge decks on most of their boats. I have seen pics of early 25s, & 28 without these and since I really like them, (and I "MAY BE" looking for a new boat soon) I want to limit myself to those year models.

My 1975 CD25 does NOT have a bridge deck. I consider this a serious defect and plan to add this feature as one of this winters projects.

Bill and Jim:
My 1977 cd25 does have a bridge deck. I guess that narrows the Time frame for when Cape Dory started putting them in the 25. For what it's worth my dad had an old 73 with no bridge deck. He built a small "bridge deck" by cutting a piece of teak to fit in the bottom section of the companionway, replacing the bottom companionway board. He had a horizintal portion across the top. He mounted the compass and log on the vertical surface and left the horizontal surface as a seat/step. This is a great place to put the instruments and they were removable so they could be stored inside the cabin. This adds no strength to the boat nor does it reduce the cockpit volume. It would reduce the flow of water into the cabin if the cockpit flooded. It also provides a seat(the best one in the boat. Sit facing forward with your feet on the companionway step.
