I am hoping to launch my Typhoon at the Hingham public ramp this weekend. Anyone know how close to (or far from) high tide it can be used? I have a float-off trail with tongue extension.
Also, can you raise the mast and set the rigging while still in the parking lot?
Thanks a lot.

Re: Hingham Mass Public Ramp Tides
Hi John,
I'm not sure about the ramp but if you call Jon @ Old Salt Outfitters (the store at the harbor) he could probably help you because he launches boats there. 781-749-9855.
If you prefer a better ramp, the one in Weymouth opposite Wessaguset Beach has a dock on either side of it and more water under it.
There's no problem doing the mast, etc. in the parking lot in Hingham.
Good luck,
Gary

John-
Hingham is a tough ramp in that it has a shallow pitch. You'll need to go at or near high tide. The sharpest ramp in the area is the one in Weymouth. If you're not dead-set on the south shore, check out Manchester-by-the-sea. It is about a 45 degree pitch, one of the steepest I've found in eastern MA - but you'll need a strong tow vehicle to hold you on that incline. Problem is, there's nowhere to keep the trailer up in Manchester as compared to that lot in Hingham.
