In a few places I have some crazing and would like to know if there is a short term fix. I realize that someday I will have to dig and rig carefully. Is there anything? I tried gelcoat repair and that lasted about 10 days. Don't mind filling, sandings, compounding, or
buffing, just do not want to open them yet. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks, Bill

Crazing...short term solution

Re: Crazing...short term solution
Bill,
I have used Captain Tolly's Creeping Crack Cure on the crazing on our starboard area, forward of the cabin -as a test whether this stuff works or not. So far so good..1 year on it.
Actually, I am not sure how to tell if it is working, as I intended for it to simply block water penetration into the coring. My crazing is all super fine lines, that do not penetrate into the fiberglass..only the gel coat. So when this treatment does or does not work, I will not know unless there is a problem with water intrusion where the effect is obvious. I think that the best test would be to see if overcoating the crazes with gel coat will stop the gel coat from re-crazing. This I have not done yet, as it requires more preparations than I want to get into right now. Soon though...

dittoes on the capt. tolleys. i used one of my fathers hypodermic needles that he uses for insulin to inject it into the cracks. not much more than a couple drops at a time.
