CD Typhoon - Motor Well VS Motor Mount and Boat Wanted
I am looking for a Typhoon Weekender, but I want a motor well rather than a mount. Did any of the Typhoons have a well or do I have to move up to the Senior? Also I am having trouble locating any CDs for sale in the DFW Texas area, if anyone knows of any please respond.

The Typhoon has only one mold. This is used for both the weekender and the daysailor. It could be adapted to for an inboard/outboard but the deck liner molds for both models have no provisions for mounts at this time. They also would require adaptation (extensive). The Senior has the molds already to accomplish what you are asking.
The possibility for the Typhoons is a true modern inboard which will mount below the cockpit. The only concern will be to properly place the weight forward enough.

Hi,
There are some other Alberg designs common here in Texas that have motor wells: The Southcoast 23 and the Kittiwake 24 (I sail a Kittiwake on Eagle Mountain Lake in Fort Worth.) These are not quite as well fitted out as CD's, but are much less expensive and perform well. They have the same beautiful traditional lines. Good luck,
