Installation of Yanmar in 28 Cape Dory Power

Post by William Townsend Perks »

If anyone is interested in the details concerning the installation of a 4LHA-STE (230hp) Yanmar diesel engine in my 28' Cape Dory Power FB, which I installed myself, please contact me. It fit like a glove. More horse power, greater fuel economy, smaller engine, lighter and DEPENDABLE. I purchase the engine from Long Island Yacht Services and they (Bob & Carol)were extremely helpful with my project. New life in a great boat and just in time for the season!

I installed one in my CD28FB and you are correct it works like a champ. It now has 800 hours on it that includes a trip from Maine to Florida and back. A great engine and a perfect match for this boat.
