PHRF Ratings THE CDSOA NORTHEAST FLEET RACE

Post by Michael Heintz »

Captains,

The time fast approaches for THE CDSOA NORTHEAST FLEET RACE.

As there was some confusion on the rating of the SLOW :-) MK II, I think we should agree on a universal rating of CD's. I know that there are some ratings listed on this web site, however I have done some research and find a "range" of ratings.

How shall we handel this????? After all we do want to beat that Pirate Captan CL, in a fair race.

ps. I have not found a rating for the MK II and would like to know where to find this info.

Captain Heintz,

Yours Sir, and must say that if your vessel, as fine as she may be, has never been rated by PHRF then it is only logical and fair that you must assume the HIGHEST rating of any vessel in the Fleet! As it turns out the PHRF for a Cape Dory 40 is something like 140! That sounds good to me..........that's the rating, NOT the seconds per mile that you will be forced to give to Hanalei............your HUMBLE servant.......

etc., etc., etc.

Sounds nervous to me

Is Pirate Captain Stumpy aka Chicken Legs getting nervous? Sounds that way to me. All I can say is that once the preliminaries are over join the Blue Water CD's in the NE Fleet sponsered CDSOA Down East Race to Maine.

We are hoping for representation from all the CDSOA Fleets. Naturally, once you have completed the race you might as well stay for the Maine Cruise.

July 1st is closing fast. Avoid the late charges ($$$ better spent on grog).

If you can't make THE RACE or the Cruise you can still join us for the Rendezvous and Clambake at Robinhood Marine! Cars, trucks and airplanes are welcome.

Hope to see you there

Michael:
It's possible that no CD30MKII has been subjected to measuring yet. You need to find a measurer from Long Island Sound and send him the measurements of your boat. Then they will have on record a PHRF for the CD30MKII. It varies depending on where you have the measuring done.

Get an application for your area at http://www.yralis.org/ratings/ratings.html

Maybe they can get you one by this summer's activities. I submitted my CD330 to the Great Lakes measurer and should hear in a few weeks.

Have fun.
