original owner's manual
Just curious to know how many of the original owner's manual are still out there. The week after I bought "Seraph" the previous owner came up to me on my way to the dock and said, "I'm not sure if you'd want this or not?" and handed me the original 1984 owner's manual. Not want it? You bet I wanted it. I was surprised that it was still around, but after 2 months of ownership and several trips to this site I soon realized that Dorys and their owners are just a little different. I feel so lucky to have "fallen" into "Seraph". She even came with a trailer.

Re: original owner's manual
I closed on the Red Witch III two weeks ago. I am the thrid owner, and I just got not only the original owners manual, but several of the original brochures. Two in mint condition. If anybody is interested. I can scan them and send them to you.Randy Bates wrote: Just curious to know how many of the original owner's manual are still out there. Re: original owner's manual
Greg Lutzow, I read your posting tonight with much interest. I am trying to get a fix on what years the older Typhoons with lower hull numbers were built. You state thatyou still have the original owners manual when you purchased your Ty Weekender new in 1980.Are you saying that you bought it new from the factory dealer, or was it new to you after buying it from a previous owner? Another question that I haveis , after you signed your name, on the next line below you printed TYW/Cefalu III. Does TYW signify Typhoon Weekender? And my last question is, on the third line you printed CD25. Does that mean the model Cape Dory 25, or does it mean Cape Dory Typhoon, Hull #25. Depending on your answers, they will do a lot to establish in what years which hull #s of Typhoons were built. Thanking you for any helpful info you might provide, I remain gratefully, John D.

Re: original owner's manual
If anyone has an original CD25 manual, (pre 25D) and can send me a photocopy... I'd be glad to post it online for those of us who were not lucky enough to get a manual.
Thanks,

Re: original owner's manual
John;
I am the original owner and purchased my Typhoon Weekender direct from the dealer in 1980 and TYW does signify Weekender. Great ship. I recently purchased a CD25 that I am currently restoring, which is the boat listed on the third line of my message. It was hard used by the previous owner. Cefalu II was a CSY 44(too much work) and Cefalu I was a J24(my wife refused to get back onboard after a knock down)

Re: original owner's manual
Copy me on that too as I am currently restoring a CD25. I need the lengths of all the standing and running rigging as well as the dimensions of the sails.
