I'am wanting to mount electric windlass on my 30, Have been shopping around looking at the different specs and offerings, the lofrans marlin vertical, lewmar concept 0 and the simpson Lawrence 600 sprint all seem to be in the ball park on amps. and pull for the ground tackle. utilizing the existing hauser is a must.
Any one have a windlass on their 30? love to hear from you.
Thanks, Ben, (Windlass in Portland)

Re: CD30 & Windlass
Ben I've got two on our CD30. Look back in the archives and you can read about them and several other good posts on CD30's with windlasses. I'll e-mail you a pic of my setup.Ben Thomas wrote: I'am wanting to mount electric windlass on my 30, Have been shopping around looking at the different specs and offerings, the lofrans marlin vertical, lewmar concept 0 and the simpson Lawrence 600 sprint all seem to be in the ball park on amps. and pull for the ground tackle. utilizing the existing hauser is a must.

Re: CD30 & Windlass
I have a Powermate mounted on the bowsprit inboard end. It is a horizontal access device ( US Made ) and certainly not a patch on a Maxwell or Simpson Lawrence. I use the rope drum with a single wrap to pull in my chain. A cheaper alternative.

Re: CD30 & Windlass
Ben,
I just mounted a windlass on my CD30. I is a bronze, 2 speed, horizontal, manual windlass of unknown manufacture. Indestructable (I hope).
For me manual was the answer. An electric windlass has too much complexity.
