Just thought you all would like to know that we had Ladybug out for a sail today. Winds were light 10-12Knots WSW, sunny and 73 degrees, just a beautiful day on the water.

Re: Ladybug was out for a sail.....
Out of where? It was nice here yesterday near the Potomac but my boat's in the yard.
Re: Ladybug was out for a sail.....
Ladybug is in North Carolina and she sits behind our house. And it will be another nice day sunny 73 degrees and they are calling for winds out of the southwest today 10-15 knots. We are leaving the dock at 10 am for another nice day sail, we will be back around 2pm.
We sail the Albemarle Sound and today we will sail over to North mark on the ICW and back home.
This is especially important because Charlie just finished upgrading Ladybug for a trip south to the Florida Keys and Bahamas, however, five days before we got onboard he got one of those calls from the Dr. that know one ever wants to get, who told him not to leave. He is going through chemotherapy treatments and is doing well and we expect his cancer to be in remission by May and then we can spend six weeks on the Chesapeake fine tuning all the upgrades he did last year. The truth is this is the first I have been out sailing on her since her new head sail was added because last July I broke my foot. We are both glad this is a new year and we plan to head south this fall.

Rhapsody Too
Take heart northern brethern. Spring is just around the corner.
Like Della and Ladybug, we here in Oklahoma had a wonderful weekend for winter sailing. 60 degrees Saturday with light air, but then any air beats sitting in the slip (or on the hard). But on Sunday - the temperature was 73 degrees, winds SSE 15-20 kts, lakes 1-2 feet. This was the first time in three months that Rhapsody had been out of her slip (except for a motor trip on MLK Holiday to look for Bald eagles) An absolutely wonderful day (Friday and Saturday nights was 25 and 35 degrees respectively).
Daylight hours are growing with each passing sunset, and at least here in Oklahoma we only lack about 30 days until the season strikes in earnest. So take heart, its coming your way.....

Della & Charlie.........Fair winds and a quartering breeze. Do the doctor's stuff and always look for the good wind. If your'e up in the Norfolk area...send me an e-mail....the house here always has an extra room if you're passing thru (the bed doesn't rock, and Waterside Marina -mile marker 0- is only 3 miles away).
78* today...winds building to 15 from the southwest,,,,,cold beers and the toe rail in the water....what a way to kiss January goodbye.

I must have just missed you. I sailed across the Abemarle on the 27th, anchored off the cypres swamp north of Long Shoal Point for the night. The Abemarle is so beautiful! I just got to Belhaven and the temp is 80* these last three days. NC is heaven.
