I expect to spend next winter in Washington, D.C., and rather than renting a small furnished apartment, I'm thinking of moving our boat there and living aboard. I assume that I'll be in a marina with electricty on the docks, a bubbler sustem, heated showers and laundry facilities (I already know of one such place), but one remaining question is how I'm going to stay warm. The prior owner installed a 110V system with a small forced air heater in the foot of the hanging locker. It works, and we've used it when working on the boat in the winter, but I expect that it is not a very economical or effective heating source. Does anyone have expereince with trying to heat a 27 by this or other means? Have you tried an oil-filled electrically heated radiator? Or alcohol-fired or other (diesel, coal, etc.) combustion heater? Thanks in advance for the help.
