Would like to remove the prop shaft from 28'Powerboat. Appears rudder must go first. Any information would be helpful.

on the CD 31, when the prop is removed from the shaft, the shaft will slide out past the rudder when the rudder is pulled to one side - in fact, the rudder can't be removed with the shaft in place, as the rudder is lowered, it jams against the shaft - therefore, i strongly recommend getting the shaft loose (by detaching it from the transmission coupling if possible, or by cutting it at the transmission end if not possible to separate it from the coupling), removing the prop, and seeing if it will slide past the rudder before doing anything to the rudder
hope this helps

oops
evidently the rudder on the power boats does have to be pulled to take out the shaft
sorry
