CD 30 MK II's Second Captains meeting

CD 30 MK II's Second Captains meeting
Second meeting of the CD MKII Captains took place on December 20th in Stratford, CT.
In attendance: Captain Larry Austin of Layla, Captain Dick Feffer (AKA Mr. Feffer) Adamarie, and Captain Michael Heintz of the Racing Sloop Macht Nichts.
Subject of meeting: CDSOA Northeast 2002 Challenge Cup.
Said participants imbibed in pre luncheon cocktails.
There was a feisty discussion of me ( oh I mean Captain Stump) ( known as Stumpy to some). It was decided by said Captains not to let Stumpy ( would that be me? ) to run this race in Eastern home territory. Rather the race should take place in Western Long Island. There was some discussion of fowl play and reefs ( if only I could have gotten closer)
After said lunch there was an inspection of Layla's hull. Again I could not get close enough to hear, but after they left I inspected said hull.....man is that smoooooth...what did he coat that with?

Unknown CD (possibly #1 ) (is that me am I really known as Stumpy to some)?

Re: CD 30 MK II's Second Captains meeting
So where was this secret meeting take place??? Are we talking Marnick's grade, Paradise Pizza grade, or Frog Pond grade. Getting a feel for the seriousness of this rendezvous. Also, how did this agent chance on this meeting (dont want to hear "From secret sources")??? Perhaps, this agent is hedging bets and gaining favour w/ a group other than his own (Mark II's)??? So what did you have for lunch, besides your Grog??? Where is Layla sitting, high and dry???
Re: CD 30 MK II's Second Captains meeting
Captain Yashinsky, or is that Master Mate,
It seems you are far to familiar with the area ( Frog Pond indeed...we save that for late night darts ).
Have you and your sidekick Mr. Bill gone over to the "other" side? I knew there was an irritating "fly on the wall" could that have been you? Sent by Captain Stump?
Clearly, the lines have been drawn, is this East vs. West?
Our meeting was very productive, the only difficult issue is what order shall the MK's past the finish line? It will be one, two, and three. Of course not disregarding the power of the 27's, especially with Mr. Bill's crack crew!!!!!
We no longer perceive Pirate Captain Stump a threat, as it was agreed that last year was a fluke.
As to the ("Unknown Informer" and "Secret sources), step forward and be known!!!!!!!
By the way Larry....That Layla's looking GOOD, what a finish on the hull, must have gotten to that secret agent!!!!!
Well......Good Holidays to all, and let's hope Santa will be good to the MK trio!!!!

Re: CD 30 MK II's Second Captains meeting
It is rumored that the CD30MKII trio has come upon an unknown formula that when applied by closely guarded application methods, will increase the hull speed of said vessel significantly.
Beware all ye who would challenge this determined trio!!!
Beware all ye who would challenge this determined trio!!!
Now, cut THAT out !
All Captains Commanding,
I believe that all of you know of me through the website, if not after having met me and that lovely vessel Hanalei, at sea(well, you MIGHT have seen her stern!). This HONORABLE Captain would NEVER place a post on this site without taking credit for said post. It is just NOT the HONORABLE thing to do!
Would the scurillous dog who is posting these messages that infer that it is I, kindly QUIT IT! Stand up man, be counted. if you have some bit of information you wish to disclose, take the credit for it, even if the information is in error! But, do NOT hide behind your ineffectual pen! We all know that this Captain Commanding would never stoop to such low tactics! Yours sincerly..........the most Honorable..........

What other side???
My mate (not Captain Bill) comes from that town. Didnt think anyone could find it on map, chart, etc. No, I am not the agent for the other side (what side is that???). Why would I respond to my own post ("A person" from the Hanalei has, in the past, responded to himself). Is Layla's location going to be revealed so this bottom can be checked out??? And what is the demarc line of this "East vs West"??? And what about L.I. to the South?
Happy Holiday's to All, Peace on Earth, and Good Will to All
Happy Holiday's to All, Peace on Earth, and Good Will to All
This is all getting very confusing!
There was a time when there seemed to be unity of purpose. That being vanquishing the evil pirate captain by any and all means, "mostly" legal. The alliance members appeared resolute in achieving that singular goal. Without a doubt we all want to win but redeeming ourselves to the view of that image we must look at in the bathroom mirror every morning, by putting Capt. Stump in his PROPER order of finish, seemed paramount. Alas, the inevitable cracks are surfacing in the alliance. Factions are forming where there should be solidarity. There is mention of trio of 27s and now, forming surreptitiously, no doubt over a luncheon of baloney sanwiches, a tripartite alliance of CD 30 MK IIs. May I remind one and all that July is still many, many tide cycles away. This devisiveness will only worsen, to our collective detriment, and the only beneficiary will be the archvillian himself. I humbly but emphatically suggest that we keep our eyes on the prize. And that, lest you forget, is to send Capt. Stump (but not Hanalei) to his impious racing end!Mark Yashinsky wrote: My mate (not Captain Bill) comes from that town. Observations
Do other notice that Hanalei's Owner/Operator posts, using many different names??? Have seen, "Hanalei", "D. Stump, Hanalei"(with and without the comma), Nautical Traditions Officer", and there may be others. Anyone think these are different personalities arising one at a time, at different times, or are all these personalities are trying to arise at one time and claim 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in "The Race"??? The other personalities might be trying to do the same for the Spinnaker class. A clean sweep in the making.
Re: CONFUSION to the Enemy ! !
Captain Kaplan,
An old British toast comes to mind, the one BEFORE the Sunday toast of "To our wives and lovers, may they never meet! !), and that is "Confusion to the Enemy" ! At least this Honorable Captain Commanding Hanalei doesn't have to worry about wasting a hogshead of good rum on THAT one! Seems that the competition has already confused themselves (by their own devious ways) so much, it will be a wonder if they may toss off the proper lines to leave the warf and get under way! Wouldn't surprise this Captain to see one of them towing a major portion of their homeside warf behind them on the way to the line! Would they EVEN remember Port from Starboard?
Well, in all good spirit, may you all gather around the scuttlebut with your wives and loved ones, share a goodly portion of holiday grog, have a most fine Christmas dinner, have a glass of Port as you open your new GPS, Sail, chart, or whatever "go Fast thingy" that may help in next years contest to be faced at sea. This has been quite the year, and all of you have added a lot to it....I am honored to be your servant......Merry Christmas to All....

A happy and joyous holiday to your entire family and Hanalei of course. A British toast to "confusion to the enemy" is it! I think you and I will perpetually disagree on what the outcome of all this will be and, for that matter, the very outcome of..."The Race"!
Disagree as we might I will offer up another toast that seems fitting at this time;
"Here's to you and here's to me.
And may we never disagree!
But if we do,
The hell with you,
And here's to me!!
