Curtains

Esteemed CD folks:

I have been thinking about putting curtains on the interior of my CD 27. Above the ports are some metal tracks that presumably you would put some kind of curtain into...Can anyone tell me where I might be able to find the correct fitting for the curtains (if I get lucky and my first mate agrees to make them for me....). Otherwise, has anyone purchased curtains that will fit this track and been satisfied with the result? Many thanks again!

The makers of the originals can still create these for a pretty high cost. I think they quoted me ~$260 for a CD30. Perhaps they will sell you the hardware only. Search this board for 'curtain' and you'll get their name & number; that's where I got it. I was lucky and had the dry rotted originals to steal the hardware from. Made mine out of sunbrella.

Talk about outrageous! We contacted the original suppliers to replace curtains/hardware on Mintaka, a CD 40. It has eleven ports. They would ony sell us curtains in sets of ten. Yup, I would have to buy twenty curtains for eleven ports. And they wouldn't budge! We made our own over the winter at a fraction of their price. If you can't get your first mate to do it you could probably someone local to you who would, and still beat the original's price. Good luck.
